Malaysia (Located Opposite of Parkson) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks to the invitation from Shannon and Cafe Barbera, I was given the opportunity to try out their signature dishes, along with some other bloggers. Although it is only recently introduced in Malaysia, Cafe Barbera has a history of over 140 years of the finest preparations of gourmet coffees in Italy. Absolutely fit for coffee fanatics, such as myself. Besides that, the cafe's menu also consist of in-house baked pastries, handmade shakes, juices, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, pizzas as well as main course meals and, my favourite part of a meal, desserts. ;) Highly recommended by the chef are Cappucino Italiano, Prawn Aglio Olio, Cheese and Mushroom Pizza, Braised Lamb Shank, Chocolate Fondant and Affogato. Got chandelier some more. Super chio kay! :D The place is very cosy and the light was dim, making Cafe Barbera a very relaxing place to hang out at. And being surrounded with the aroma of coffee, BIG bonus. (Y) And the waiters were super friendly too! I was pretty lost looking at the 2 full page of coffees to pick from (yes, they have 2 FULL page of coffee choices). The waiters however, being very familiar with their house specialities, recommended some of the few famous ones. (Then after that he told me he cheat one, cause the recommended ones got star at the side of their number one wtf) But still, A+ for the customer service! :D The Coffees. Double Toasted Latte - RM11 The one on the platter was served hot, where as the one in front was served cold... but this one stirred and drank half way one wtf this is how the cold Double Toasted Latte looks like when served :3 My Mocha Fantasy - RM12 Cappuccino Shakerato - RM11 Roma - RM 12 Napoli - RM 12 Espresso Shakerato - RM 10 Cappuccino Lapoletano - RM10 It is served separately, the espresso and the chilled milk with foam (as seen in the picture on the left). The right one shows how it looks like after pouring in the espresso into the milk :3 Affogato - RM11 Butter Croissant - RM7 Multigrain Croissant - RM8 Both the croissants were served together with butter and house made coffee caramel The Appetizers Rolled Smoked Duck Salad - RM20 Rolled smoked duck with mixed mesclun tossed with cherry tomato, coffee dressing and orange citrus Spinach & Cheese Spring Roll - RM14 Rolled spinach with emmental cheese The cheese is cheesy enough but not too sharp. So, no worries non-cheese-fans! :D Smoked Salmon Bruschetta - RM19 Sliced of smoked salmon with olive oil, capers, dill and rocket salad served on toast Mushroom and Pumpkin Soup - Homemade cream of mushroom soup/ pumpkin soup with roasted garlic bread After the appetizers, there was a commercial break wtf. Behold, the pizza maker making pizza (Y) It was really interesting :D He tossed the pizza dough super high! Marcky challenged him to toss it high enough to cover the smoke sensor wtf HAHA Ze Chef and ze Pizza Maker (Y) (Photo credits to Feeq) Pizzas Pesto, Cheese and Mushroom Pizza - Topped with tomato sauce, pesto with mushroom, onion, black olive, garlic oil, parmesan and mozzarella cheese Spicy Tuna Pizza - Tomato sauce, chicken meat, onion, chunky tuna meat, chilli flakes, olive oil and mozzarella cheese Hawaiian Chicken Pizza - Tomato sauce, chicken meat, onion, peppers, chunky pineapple and mozzarella cheese Pastas Salmon Aglio Olio - RM29 Pan fried salmon fillet topped with homemade caper sauce on bed of spaghetti aglio olio Prawn Aglio Olio - RM29.00 Spaghetti cooked with prawns, olive oil, garlic, chillis, fresh basil and sundried tomato. Beef Carbonara - RM26 Fettuccine with sliced mushroom, beef and egg yolk in cream sauce Chicken Lasagna - RM25.00 Layers of pasta, béchamel, cheese, spinach and minced chicken; baked in oven My personal favourite! Reason being I love cheese and Garfield wtf. Heh :P On a serious note, I highly recommend this for cheese lovers! :D Mains Braised Lamb Shank RM39.00 Braised lamb shank with vegetables, served with fettuccine and grapes. (Photo credits to Feeq) Grilled Tenderloin RM49.00 Served with sautéed baby potatoes, vegetables and green peppercorn sauce Method of cooking can be requested. Without special request this dish is served medium rare. :) (Photo credits to Feeq) Stuffed Chicken Parcel RM33.00. Stuffed chicken thigh with spinach, carrot, capsicum, turkey ham and mozzarella cheese, served with mashed potato and mushroom sauce Desserts Tiramisu RM12.00 House specialty tiramisu Pear Crumble RM14.00 Served with fresh pear and vanilla ice-cream Chocolate Fondant RM14.00 Molten chocolate pudding served with vanilla ice-cream Mega highly recommended! The chocolate pudding is served while it's hot. The vanilla ice-cream compliments the rich chocolate very well, providing the contrast to the flavour. Looking at the picture itself makes me crave for it already! :D And for lucky December's promotion, * Promotion valid from 5th - 20 December 2011 also!
